Patrick and all... our exploring of the extensive wealth of info on this wonderful MacTavish Website finally led me here today and this Knapdale website you found is truly amazing. It was especially fun to see the Hearth tax listings today and see where all the MacTavish and MacCavish families lived! so much history to explore!

in looking at many of the Knapdale and Kilmartin records, at least those from the 1700's, it seems the name is usually spelled McTavish. Was there a time when MacTavish became more common?

There is also a link to this site from our homepage (1). Click on the map at the top of the page. It opens a window (2) with additional links, including the Knapdale People, relative to our homeland area. Enjoy!
