An excerpt from the Journal of the Clan Campbell Society (United States of America), V 17-19, page 21, referring to the burials at Kilmartin Church.
“Dunardry Here also is the grave of Dugal MacTavish of Dunardry, died 1855, and his wife Letitia Lockhart.”
This refers to Dugald MacTavish of Dunardry, Writer to the Signet, and Sheriff Substitute at Campbeltown (son of Lachlan) who sold Dunardry in 1823 to Neil Malcolm of Poltalloch, after its re-possession from Simon McTavish, Jr., 4th and last direct heir of Simon McTavish of Garthbeg.
Even the Campbells know where the chiefship resides.
