BOOKS FOR FURTHER READING
One needs to remember that when reading "the old works" things are not always as they are written, in fact some of it is just wrong.
Most of these books below are online at Google Books, where you can read them online or download as a PDF, or elsewhere as E-Books.
The History of Ireland
Cenél Conaill and The Donegal Kingdom (AD 500-800) (Not online and its expensive, try your library, its an amazing read.)
Lives of the Irish Saints
The Life of St. Columba by Adomnan (Dr. Reeves edition)
History of the Norse in Ireland
A history of Scotland from the Roman Occupation (Vols I, II, III, IV)
A Scots Earl in Covenanting Times
An Inventory of the Lamont Papers
An account of the depredations committed on Clan Campbell and its followers
History of the Norse in Ireland
The Pictish Nation: Its people and Its Church
Memorials of Argyleshire
Origines Parochiales Scotiae
Fasti Ecclesiĉ Scoticanĉ
I will post other books, from time to time, but most of these will require purchasing.

The Letters of Letitia Hargrave (MacTavish) by Maragret A. MacLeod

This is a most fascinating read. From the Chaplain Society.
Letitia MacTavish Hargrave was the daughter of Chief Dugald MacTavish of Dunardry, Sheriff at Campbeltown, Kintyre, and sister to William MacTavish, Hudson Bay Company Governor of Assiniboia and Rupert's Land. She married James Hargrave of the Hudson Bay Company, who was clerk to her brother, William, and moved to Canada. She was one of few white women in the region at that time.
Other interesting books: Any of the other fifty or so publications online of Chaplain Society dealing with the Fur Trade found at
