Dear Cousins,

As we look forward to completing the nomination and election process for Clan MacTavish USA treasurer, I wondered what clan members see as important qualifications for the office.

Discussion encouraged Very Happy

Cheers! \~/

Not very good odds, eh Donley?
I wonder if people keep coming back to check the poll.
At any rate it would seem experience AND loyalty count Wink

Cheers,
Jennifer

HI Jen and Donley

This is exactly what I have been complaining about for quite some time.

You know, not every clan is fortunate enough to have a web page where they can communicate for fun or for clan happenings.

I cannot imagine why more of our members are not posting messages. We had something good going on the Recipes fold and then all of a sudden everything stopped. What's up with that?

Perhaps if we come up with some interesting subjects, we can entice more people to participate in the forum. How about some Scottish history (not just MacTavish) for starters? They could also tell stories about their family members or happenings in their area.

What do you say? Let us hear from you Clan!

Happy Valentine's Day.

In kinship

Joan(n)

Hi Joan,

Not everyone enjoys cyper chats I guess. We have a lot of members with very busy lives. Jobs, children, etc. I remember those jam packed days of falling into bed at night and not even remembering my head hitting the pillow. Heck, sometimes I didn't even make it to my bed and fell asleep in my children's bed while reading thier nightime stories to them. Now adays, thanks to a decrease in estrogen, I lay awake trying to go to sleep! Very Happy

Not that life isn't busy, but I do seem to have more time to reflect and organize my thoughts. I know we have lots of "readers" come into the forum. Maybe that's as much as they can muster at the moment.

What counts is showing up at the games and ejoying each other. However, we have a wonderful forum here to keep in touch so easily. I agree we need to find a way to keep each other engaged and not have it fall to just a few.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Jennifer

Fellow Clan MacTavish Members,

The Election is moving along fine and we have someone seeking the Office of Treasurer. Members in good standing will receive a ballot and copy of each candidates nomination form in the near future. Please exercise this opportunity to participate in the proceedings of Clan MacTavish USA.

Kinship,

Charlie Viar, Sr.
Chair, Election Committee

Okay. Will someone tell me how to vote??

Is there a button or something that needs to be selected?

Hi Dunardry,

You should see the choices for the poll when you log into the topic. Just click on the dot by your choice. It should turn blue.

Once you choose you should be able to then choose to see the poll results.

Is this not what you see?

Jennifer

There are no dots to select Jennifer. All I see are the bars that indicate the number of votes.

Hi Dunardry,

The poll is supposed to be open for 30 days, which would be March 1.
I just changed it to 60. That shouldn't make a difference, but see if it does. If not, I don't know why it doesn't seem to be working, but it might explain the number of votes.

When you made the change I did see the buttons and after selecting my choice the bar graph appeared again.

Thank you for fixing that Jennifer.

Dunardry,

Curiouser and curiouser as Alice would say Rolling Eyes
I don't know why, but I'm glad it worked!

Aye,

HI Jen

I was able to vote with no problem the other day, but today, the buttons do not work. I agree, I believe this contributes to the low number of votes.

I am also finding that in order for my words to post that I have to click on submit twice before it will take me to the page where it says click here to view your post.

Joan
